Do you think that democracy has failed us Kenyans and it is better for us to have a more autocratic system like what Russia is moving too and have our ministries and legislations dealt with by technocrats instead?
Well –democracy has failed not because of the institution per se, but because of the electorate. We elect assified fossils into power and pay the price for 5 years. Once we learn that we get the leadership we deserve things ought to improve

What do you think will send a loud message about tackling corruption?
Seeing big men hoisted by the backs of their ample trousers into green lorries and then headed for Kamiti for a long spell. Stealing public money should become a capital offence.

Oh, yes, at some point, all you private school hacks (said affectionately) need to start running for public office (and that goes for the all the Nairobi School, Lenana, Mangu, Alliance (both), Kianda, etc., geniuses who all work in the private sector.)

I like the post.
I am hoping to see a Kenyan flag go up as soon as I post this comment … ;o) Other than that, I think your questions are very well answered … so here’s my question … did you tip the scales when you took your IQ test? You strike me as a genius.
Seriously, though …
i) If you could only give your children three things, what would they be?
ii) In 20 words, give what you think is the best advice you can to anybody reading Ask M
iii) Your reaction to seeing someone you love cry?

“You must have seen them — they have a yellow line down the middle and they seat 14″
still laughing over that one…
“Strikes me as a man who has always wanted to be president but now that he’s there feels that that’s that.”
another personal favourite…
i have a few though:
1) would you consider living/working outside kenya if presented with a phenomenal opportunity ( and for how long…)? any place more appealing than others?
2) have you had/do you have political aspirations, and what office would you run for?
3) are there any african leaders you think are doing a commendable job, and who would they be?
4) (if we’re really nice…) would you consider doing an ‘ask M’ more regularly - perhaps on issues around kenya etc. and less personal?

“But for forks and spoons I think plastic would be wiser” - funniest line of this post.
I see ducking and diving on the answers is where we are at! I propose we do this again, same questions, different answers. Oh, and I noticed you cheated and asked people to ask you on your contact form, so we dont know all the questions asked and by whom…
@Eclipse - I am buying the drinks, you are bringing the answers. We are setting the date and venue… bring a brolly, its a tad wet outside

LOL!
Insightful and witty
Having Identified the electorate as the problem, what leadership style would you think would get the ‘assified fossils’ working?
What can we do to ensure a smooth changeover from the ‘assified fossils’, besides waiting for nature to take them from their seats?
If you were the presidential adviser, how would you differentiate the government for political and economic prosperity - besides cleaning out the fossils?
