Congratulations to Sudi Simiyu and the lads for coming away with some silverware from Twickenham.

Though truth be told it was an agonizing game to watch. It began very poorly. The commentators had a dim view of the dizzying array of knock-ons, forward passes and fumbles.

For these it can be argued the weather was not the best and the pitch was slippery.

What I took issue with was the Kenyans’ irrational blind inclination to kick the ball whenever they got it, losing posession 11 times out of 10. I like to think Coach Ayimba put an end to this insanity during the half time break.

Second half play though was markedly better, despite the commentators describing the final whistle as “A relief”!

GO KENYA!!!

WTF OF THE DAY

Stories like these remind me why I have such a low opinion of “reality TV”

AOB

I’ve blogged about my iPod Martha before, and some of the more interesting possible accessories. Well, this one, via R, takes the biscuit (Borderline NSFW). Yikes!!!

Am No 1 aki I deserve some ice cream Methusela upo?

    Pewa potato ice cream!

Yeah I don’t know where Kenya had left their touch. But at least we got the Shield. I hope Ted and Andrew working things out though if Innocent doesn’t recover we will miss something there. Lovely week

It was a pale shadow of their best, but hopefully we can consolidate and build from the experience

M,you got to be kidding me!how possibly can you pat the sevens team after such a disastrous outing?Winning the shield? Please!

=)) Dude, I am (somewhat out of character) being optimistic and looking on the brighter side. I’d have wept and wailed like Bifwoli Wakoli if we’d lost to Italy

Measured against the backdrop of a main cup semis appearance at Adelaide Sevens, this was total hogwash.

Well, as Sudi aptly confessed during the post match interview, the team has a MAJOR PROBLEM with consistency. Hopefully that will be addressed

    >>> Well, as Sudi aptly confessed during the post match interview, the team has a MAJOR PROBLEM with consistency. Hopefully that will be addressed

Tell you what, that inconsistency will be our greatest undoing.Rumour has it that IRB wants to drop Kenya as one of the core teams in the circuit precisely because of our “blowing hot then cold” performances.when that is done,Kenya will be lucky to be invited for more than two tourneys.

  • Trojan

I would wish to share your optimism on this but no,nothing will be addressed.I wish to draw your attention to the results of the 15s game Kenya played against Uganda on saturday. The East African rugby tables have turned.why?well,UG ADDRESSED their problems while we were asleep.

    Tehhee, eti relief? The nerve!
LOOL@ Bifwoli Wakoli, mwehehhee, does that chap have kids? If yes, are they grown up enough to cringe at their father’s antics?

    Uko poa lakini? umesikia poa?

I didn’t watch the game seeing as I am in NFL land but the boys must be congratulated for actually winning something, we can work on their problems now.

the big brother thing, the mama had clearly stated to BB that she didnt want to be notified if her pops died. BB cant dishonour her wish, and the death was meant to be kept to a private affair but some nutshell decided it would be good to publish a death on National news. the mama already knew he was goin that way and had made their peace, after a decade which they were estranged…so all i say dont judge a persons wish – she doesnt want to know then she should know!

Kenya will always be invited to play 7s, reason: We pull in the crowds…louds crowds…consistently. Even other countries admit the Kenyan fans are the most lively and often come join us in the bleachers. The organizers make a lot of money from Kenyans’ presence, so ejecting us would be a biz blunder.

I’d hate to think that the only reason why Kenyan is in the sevens – is coz of the kelele we make!
Lakini I did notice in Edinburg, the lost the ball alot of times coz of kicking at every opportunity..
