You gotta feel sorry for the Zimbabweans though…they’re stuck with Bob for another 6 fucking years - That’s how long a presidential term is over there…
That’s 2014, which is a long way away!! Why would anyone vote for 6 more years of milliom shilling bread?
A picture… a thousand words.
This would be funny, if it wasn’t so dire!
Ain’t hat the truth
M, what are your thoughts on Simon Mann and his pals? On the one hand, the sheer neo-colonial arrogance behind the intent.. on the other hand, what’s wrong with African leaders… why can’t the goods ever trickle down to the mwananchi?
I hope Mr Mann enjoys his 34 years in Equatorial Guinea. And even on the other side of things, the big fish get away scot free. What is Mr Thatcher up to nowadays I wonder?
African leaders, methinks are wanting in every possible way. Pity there was only one Mandela. In fact most African leaders probably look at him with disbelief. He QUIT?
Ye-e-e-es…the vociferant voices of African leaders’ protestations. Vexed much?
Soon enough, v wananchi v will stand vivified and valorous having verily vowed to vanquish the venal and virulent vermin vanguarding vice and vouchsafing the violently vicious and voracious violation of volition.
Fu¢k Mugabe and the horse he rode in on.
I have zero faith in bullshit bodies like the AU, SADAC, etc. All they seem to do, and do very well, is meet!
Mr Thatcher, according to local tabloid press (repeat after me, “It MUST be true, I read it in the tabloids), is renting a villa a la largese (ok, I know, but I speak no Spanish, so broken French it will have to be) in Spain. He is not paying his rent or bills, but that’s besides the point.
He denies giving money to MAnn for anything that wasn’t purely altruistic… never mind the sudden interest in Equatorial Guinea and the coincidence re: timing of oil discovery. Then there is the other mastermind and bank roller Mr Calil, who made his £100 million in the Nigerian oil industry, and whose monetary contribution was geared towards furthering democracy in EG… puhlease… spare me… I would like to believe that (well, not really) but it’s far easier to just join the dots… a no-brainer, that!
You are right, the bigguns are connected… and will never be brought to book, despite the laughable stories… sigh…
Have a good wknd… it’s my turn to move house. Somehow, I doubt I will have as much fun as you did when you and yours were moving a few weeks ago
Gross incompetence and dereliction of duty are just a couple of prerequisites for “succesful” African “leadership”.
For the record, I’m as peeved as the next chap regarding Thatcher, Mann et al., and their neo-colonial arrogance.
Having said that, are we really destined to never be in control of the reins of our collective destinies? Why do we have this ineradicable habit of electing installing, reinstalling and thereafter exalting the same repeat offenders and their ilk? If our leaders are leading the charge in robbing and pillaging the continent with unprecedented impunity, what’s to stop foreign nations and individuals from getting in on the action? After all, they seem to know what to do with Africa’s insane riches.
I say, if Equitorial Guinea’s leaders still haven’t made something of that little square on the map country’s oil economy…
Well, I bet you Mr. Mann doesn’t get to enjoy the world famous accomodations of a third world jailhouse for the entire 34 years or the rest of his life [whichever comes first].
hillarious, the first cartoon is exaclty what the sadc leaders are doing? this is one guy i’d gladly wish death on coz its like the only way he’ll ever get out of power1
