Surprise!

Posted January 23rd, 2009 in Hubbub by M

Only a particularly slow individual would be surprised at the news that Amos Kimunya is back in cabinet! After all, I even drew a diagram explaining how things work in this neck of the woods. Reacquaint yourself with it at your convenience.

Thought Of The Day

Americas cried as they watched their president being sworn in. Kenyans wept as they watched theirs

In the midst of what is the worst global economic downturn perhaps since the term “global economy” was coined, is this the time to appoint UHURU KENYATTA as Finance Minister??

No doubt Kenya is about to make major investments in its Roads network; Thika Road is an example. Is this the time to appoint the uninitiated Mr Bett to the post of Roads minister?

What are the qualifications of these two for the posts they have been appointed to, aside from the “exigencies” of Kenyan politics?

  • Real one?

Totally depressing but as you said not unexpected :(

I actually argue that Kimunya deserves to be a cabinet minister and I am glad he is back. One thing is clear we have a corrupt government…from Kibaki and Raila to the last assistant minister, I dare anyone to front a name that would survive an honest corruption inquiry.

I also believe that Kimunya was better in his ministry than half his corrupt colleagues. With the likes of Ruto in government no one can use corruption as an objection!
